VALUE-ADDED TRAINING

Students learn engineering concepts, principles, applications and procedures during the classroom lecture sessions. Teachers motivate the students through introducing the course material, providing course connected information to the students and explaining concepts, principles, procedures and practices.

Tutorial Class sessions with small group of students are also conducted once in a week by every course teacher for the purpose of comprehension of knowledge imparted to students in the lecture classes, applying the acquired knowledge in solving simple problems, enhancing analytical abilities to analyze and synthesize problems.

Laboratory and Workshop Sessions are helpful to students in applying the knowledge (Concepts and Principles) for solving problems, development of psychomotor skills, improving observation, measurement and report writing skills, imparting creativity and innovation, developing human skills such as teamwork.

Often seminars/workshops are organized to acquire knowledge and skills in specific subject area of interest which is a gateway to the career building process.

Project Work, both mini and major, will provide opportunity to the students to demonstrate their creativity, knowledge and skills. Quality of project work is the primary indication of students’ technical strength.

In addition to offering all the above services, every department offers value added training courses along with regular degree course to make the students industry ready and employable when they complete their degree. These courses are designed by the faculty with the help of industry experts under the guidance of the head of Amrita Center for Industrial Training, Nagercoil. The following are the value-added training courses offered by the departments at Amrita College of Engineering and Technology.

30 hours of hands-on training on “SolidWorks 3-D Modeling” to 5th Semester students.

VI

30 hours of hands-on training on “SolidWorks Simulation (finite element analysis) and SolidWorks Motion analysis” to 6th Semester students.

VII

45 hours training using “Ansys” to 7th semester BE students. It is a software analysis tool used to analyze all types of engineering components for different load conditions.

Preparatory training for the courses will be conducted during the semester classes by the respective course training faculty during the VAT slot as per the class timetable (https://amrita.edu.in/node/443). Hands-on training session will start from the first Monday after the last day of ODD and EVEN Semester University Examination.
