Amrita College of Engineering and Technology has inked Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with several industries to bridge the gap between the academic deliveries and industry needs and thereby  improve employability skills of the students. 

Amrita Center for Industrial Training (ACIT)

ACIT is setup in the year 2019 in our Institution with the objective of promoting industry-institute-interaction through arranging training/ internship in industries for the undergraduate and postgraduate students in Engineering. For this purpose, the center has signed MoU with the following Industries:

 



Activity 1

Name of the Industry: Confederation of Indian Industry, Young Indians (CII-Yi)

This memorandum of understanding is made and entered into on 27.08.2019 between Confederation of Indian Industry, Young Indians (CII-Yi) and Amrita College of Engineering and Technology (ACET).

Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) formed with an objective of creating a platform for Young Indian’s to realize the dream of a developed nation. It has over 2600 direct members in 43 city chapters, and indirect membership of 8500 through its Yuva. “To become the Voice of Young Indian’s Globally” being the vision of Yi, it reaches out to the global Indians wherever they are to make them an integral part of the Indian Growth Story. 

Through the Yi Yuva, Yi intends to provide an opportunity to start thinking and work for India, Sowing the seeds of thinking about India and its growth at schools and colleges, an invaluable motivation for young minds to see how other young achievers are making a difference, bridging potential with achievement, a unique networking opportunity with peers across the country, developing leaders for tomorrow, an experience on leadership and team building and an opportunity to volunteer / participate in Yi events at the chapter and national level.



The role of the institution would be to enroll a minimum no. of students at the beginning of the year and increase the same substantially through the

years that follow; that their contact details will be given on the day of their sign-up; that it undertakes to follow the charter(attached), that it will depute a faculty/ teacher coordinator for the Yi Yuva whose role has been defined in the charter, that the students will have to pay a fees of Rs.100/- each and will be given the motivation and opportunities to engage in activities and initiatives that they conceptualize, that these students are to make reports regularly on their activities to the Yi Executive Member and that the students will be allowed to participate in the Yi National& Chapter events in other cities like the summit (finer details to be worked in coherence with the institution’s policies)

Activity 2

Name of the Industry:​ MI Measuring Instruments, Madurai
MoU has been signed on 04-10-2019, 02:00 PM with Vi Micro systems, Chennai with the objective of jointly identifying the curriculum gap referring to the industry requirement and designing suitable value-added training programmes in the Electrical and Electronics domain to bridge the gap which will benefit the students in terms of skill development. Other aspects of this MoU are Internship/Industrial Training support to the students, training the students in emerging technologies, arranging guest lectures and Faculty Development Programmes, etc.

Vi Micro systems has an effective work force of about 200 workforce in various departments. The company has also its own R&D wing recognized by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India.

Name of the Industry:​ VI Microsystems Pvt. Ltd., Perungudi, Chennai

Second MoU has been signed 04-10-2019, 02:30 PM with MI Measuring systems, Madurai which is an Electrical & Electronics Instruments manufacturing industry. The company is one of prominent supplier of extensive range of Testing & Measuring Instruments & Electrical Machines Lab for Research organisations, Engineering Institutions, and Other Industries. Further, it is engaged in development of Custom-made Electronics Automation Systems.​

 

 



Activity 4

Name of the Industry: EmCog Solutions, Chennai

Third MOU has been signed on 4-10-2019, 3.00PM with Em-Cog solutions Chennai. This company is a Research and Development Company, focusing on development of a hardware learning system designed with the objective of providing a platform for the learners to acquire product development skill based on their acquired domain knowledge in the field of Power electronics, Analog electronics, Embedded system, Control system and Renewable energy (Hardware/Software Solutions).

Name of the Industry: EFY Enterprises Pvt Ltd

Amrita College of Engineering and Technology has initiated a joint initiative with Electronics For You (EFY) Skill Development Center (ESDC), EFY Enterprises Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, and signed an MoU on 04-10-2019, with the objective of enabling students to Create Design Build Operate (CDBO) innovative projects involving the use of modern technologies. Such projects will make students industry ready with advanced skills. As per agreement, EFY will provide access to online certification to students in courses related to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, IoT, etc. This MoU also contemplates periodical Interaction with students by Technical experts from EFY enterprises to enhance student’s technical skill.
